LOVE by SEBASTIAN ASUEM
We laugh,
We dance,
We run,
We walk side by side,
We have separate battles yet we fight them together,
You are my backbone, inspiration and strength,
My only true friend,
There are uncountable lessons I have learnt,
But you are not part,
We backbite and brag about us,
We get jealous at times,
And tease each other,
We get dirty when we want,
And though we fight and argue,
I never cease to think of you,
I doubt I can woo you,
You don't believe in your feelings,
You hate it that you love me,
And with the high ego,
I wish I could let go,
So I live every day feeling you are an impossibility,
I am still startled how the best times of our lives just evaporated into thin air,
And now I wake and sleep with regrets,
With shrinking heart, I wander around in search of a way to scoop you out of my head,
The self is tired of being deceived, I have given up,
I will not continue to be unfaithful to myself,
I am human too, I have a feeling that can be hurt, I am sick with this thing called love,
I would turn around and leave if I was some robot,
Yet with these burning tears in my eyes,
Though the body is weary and willing to give up on you,
The inner me wants you more than anything else,
I can tell the same about you, your eyes and looks gives you out,
However, we are gifted with the power to deny the truth if it's too heavy for us to bear,
I hate to admit it as well, but I love you like you do,
And if you ever change your mind, I am still where you left me.
