ART by QUABENA ESBEN |
Progression of the Ghanaian entertainment and film industry would have been a mirage with the exclusion of ASUEM SEBASTIAN, writer and filmmaker (Director).Seebgh took its turn to interview the fastest growing writer and director in the country on his very inspirational short article on social media platform, twitter.
Ishmael Yegbe,a reporter and author at seebgh had the privilege of meeting and interacting with the young writer and filmmaker who currently schools at National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI).This is what he had to say about his current writing entitled... "UNTITLED".
“I write to make the impact in people’s lives. My pieces are meant to restructure the thinking of people, this generation. The real success is not in winning awards and having lots of properties but winning people’s heart. Creating a positive impact in the lives of people and the environment. That’s what I am aiming at.
Like my previous pieces, this one (UNTITLED) is also inspired by something. An art piece illustrated by Quabena Esben, a final year student in NAFTI.
It talks about giving and the fact that our glory lies in giving” he ended.
UNTITLED by SEBASTIAN ASUEM ART by QUABENA ESBEN
A beggar is supposed to recognise another,
With regards to pilfering from a swindler, it is unheard of,
But it's okay for beggars in suits to walk pass their fellow beggars in tattered clothes,
Givers never lack, a great misconception.
At least that's what it appears to be,
And we are much more concerned of the self and our chancy grail,
We walk pass our glory with our crippled minds and blind sights.

Indigenes from this side of the valley are beautiful folks.
O' yes, on this side of the valley are beautiful people,
With ugly souls.
I am not any different, the thirst for self-fulfillment introduced me to greed and negligence.
But when man becomes god and god in men,
Self-contentedness and unsatisfied hunger for tenders without minding it's genuineness,
Led me right pass my glory covered in shame.
I never fail to learn, even so, I learnt to fail in life,

I never fail to learn, even so, I learnt to fail in life,
"What shall it profit a man if he acquires all the world's riches and yet loses his soul?" This biblical quote kept echoing in my head long after a roadside preacher spat them out of his holy cavity,
This picture,
The art of a great younging, with each line carefully stitched together.
Caught my attention even more, it inspired this piece.
And now I have learnt to give.
I have learnt to give wherever and whenever you may not know whom you are giving to.
Today, I have given my last bit and walking away, I may be hungry for the entire day but nothing surpasses the joy it brings.
I know now why the poor are genuinely happy and the rich fake it.
