THE CLIMAX by Michael Agbozo
THE CLIMAX
When lip services are done
And pleasantries packaged for bates
We shall return to our waters
With swords gleaming with blood.
When faces are purchased with dishonour
And favour with betrayal,
The referee shall still keep his watch
And quit the match
For the penalty that shall separate goats and sheep
And stools awarded in complement of crowns
To the swords that gleam with the most blood.
