How to share files via an adhoc connection or the wifi you created

To start with, the person you want to share your files with on the network should be conected to the wifi you created.
Check to see if the network discovery are turn on and the  file sharing too.
  • To do this go to network and sharing center
  • Click on change advance sharing settings
  • Select Turn on network dicovery and turn on file and printer sharing.
  • You can actually decide to let your peer use password to access the network or not.
  • Select turn off password protected sharing.

After you have done all of the above then we are good to go.
  • Open the folder that you want to share.........
In my case the folder that i want to  share is New folder which contains a SEM4 folder again
  • Right click on the folder and go share

  • Click on share with specific people
  • Click on the arrow pointing down and select everyone or the name of the computer you want to share the files with and click on add
  •  You can now decide the type of control you want to your peer to have over the file that you share...that assigning read and write policies or read only  policies.
NB: if you assign a read and write policy, it means that your friend is having the right to make changes to that file either delete do anything with the file, but if you assign only the read only policy it means he or she can only read files..that is copy files
  • After you are done assigning the policies now click on share

Now your friend should be able to access the file you shared.
He should go to his networks and locate your computer and find the location of the file you shared with him.

Thanks for your time.
