THE PORTER BY SEBASTIAN ASUEM

By fate; I am the worst creature; The all-powerful supreme being ever made; I am not charmed; I lay the head to rest in my torn clothes; And wake in the morn' in the same rags; Staring above my head, I wonder if miracles do exist though; And your stores at the market; No more cases of theft? I sleep there; I am a homeless being; Living in the open under harsh conditions; I am your watch dog; You ridicule and misuse me; Maybe I deserve it; Despite the disrespect and disregard; I carry your encumber; Lowering your risk of suffering backache; And ageing quick; I may not have a choice; But for the price; The little penny; You find hard to give; I do it; So you see? You are because I am; And I am because you are; The next time you think of disregarding me; Know then that I am also an earthling. #inkInvasion #poetry
