A friend’s plea. By Woedem Prisca Abodakpi
A friend’s plea.
once we lived and laughed
our sorrows and grieves shared
cried on each other’s shoulders
and shared a love without borders
distance oh distance
like the very thief he was
has robbed us empty
and now we’re none as hefty
many a times I sit and reminisce
the moments and memories
the very sound of your laughter
and the glorious harmonies louder
now that you’re no more with me
what now shall I do
there’s no more to adore
nowhere else to go
you, oh my friend was my all
my all in all.
I feel empty and lost
I could trade me for a cost
If that would bring you back
Back to my lonely life, now whack
Breach the borders, please
And my heart lease.
